Unhappy I think we've come to the end

DD has been just having one feed before bedtime for 2-3 months now. Last night she let DH put her to bed without so much as a look my way I had a feeling we were coming to the end as for the last couple of weeks she seems to just suck more than actually feed, but I'm still a little sad.

DH will be home tonight so I'll get him to put her down again and see what happens. Then tomorrow night he'll be at work so that will probably be the real test.

How old is your DD? It sounds like she is self weaning, which is a great thing - doing things in her own time.
Also, many children self-wean when another bub is on the way, as the taste of your bm changes.

If you want to talk to someone, you could give the ABA Helpline a call and talk to a counsellor.

    Starfish, she's 19 months.

I am glad she's self-weaning as I didn't want to continue right through this pregnancy anyway. But I'm gonna miss that special time we have before she goes to bed at night.

Well it may not be the end afterall. DH put her down last night but she woke 40 mins later and wouldn't calm down until I offered boob. I guess that's to be expected though, right? We may have a little back and forth before she drops the feed for good?

TC you're probably right. Bbs are still a comfort for her as much as a feeding thing. You'll probably find your supply will drop off with her feeding less and getting further into the pg. Some children keep going, some don't. I think it sounds like your DD is just weaning at her pace. Well done to you!

Thought I'd come in and update. We've had 5 nights in a row without any feeds. And this with teething and a cold on top. My little girl is growing up
