Found my dream home... now to apply for rental... any tips

While searching AllHomes tonight to find rentals to look at during the next week... but I don't think I need to look any further lol only problem is the tough market or so I've been lead to believe in Canberra...

So any tips, hubby is driving past the "top two" on my list tonight so he can apply tomorrow or at least register interest and apply to look inside if that's their process.

They are both in Queanbeyan, mid $500's low $600's per week... what are our chances?

He's previously been approved for an apartment in Canberra but was second to get the application in so missed out.

Yeah it's a tough market, there was at least 12 couples looking at the houses we recently looked at. In this area, it wasn't a case of first to look round gets first dibs, they get a list of interesxted people to look round and have a main viewing day.
It was policy that you had to look round prior to putting in the application, so I had the applications filled in and ready to go, as soon as the viewing had finished i whizzed round to the real estate. But that didn't always help, as all the approved applications were given to the owner, so they could then make a decision.
I borrowed the money and offered 6 months rent up front in the end, and that swung the ball into our court, and we got the house.

I'd ask to put in an application anyway & see how you go.
Least then they can see how keen you are.
