50% Child care rebate

Sorry if this has been posted before - but I heard the 50% childcare rebate is only for approved childcare. Is this true?

DD goes to an independant christian school and I pay $100 a week in OOSH care, was hoping to claim 50% of that back (if possible) I do know the school she attends is only registered so has a rebate percentage of 16% (or thereabouts) if that makes any difference?

Thought I would look into it more seeing as we have bubs on the way and the extra money doesnt hurt!

Ummm yes it's only for approved Childcare... And I'm unsure if that school would be approved.

if they are registered carers, you won't get the child care rebate - it only applies to approved child care providers

Bummer! Its a little frustrating that the school is not approved. I have been told many of times from the school they are in the process of becoming approved, but that was 3 years ago
