I recently bought DS a wind up 'tv' music box. The kind with the scrolling picture. The first night I had it in my house, it started up on its own. I was feeding DS in my bed, and the toy was on the floor in case I needed it to soothe him. (it plays a lullaby). Anyway part way through the feed it started up. I thought it was weird but assumed it hadn't finished winding down after using it an hour or so earlier.

Fast forward to last week. I was changing DS's 3am nappy and the music box was on a high shelf in his room. I hadn't used it for days at that point. It started up again, scared the living daylights out of me for a second there. This time I was sure it had wound down after the last use, and found it strange that it would go off all of a sudden, when I was in the room to hear it, no less.

Has anyone had something similar happen? My sister thinks it was our Dad trying to soothe my crying baby, as it only goes off when both DS and I are present. (he died when I was a toddler and has always been 'with me'.) Personally, I think it might be my mc'd baby making contact. The presence I feel is not the familiar presence of my father.

Any opinions or similar experiences would be appreciated.
