Zarius is 2 1/2 and used to eat veggies and fruit like it was going out of fashion, and in the last 12 months he has been getting bad constipation so took him to the docs (again) and got a print off for high fibre foods, but thats all well and good but how do you get them to eat it..........................
Any tips advice anything would help so much right now
Im afraid I wont be much good help wise, but I can sympathise with fussy eating in 2 year olds at the moment.
My 26month old who up until a couple of months ago ate most things, now wont eat anything other than vegemite or honey and bread, yoghurt, grapes, sultanas, canteloupe, mandarins and occasionally apple.
Its not causing any poo issues so far, but I'm still worried hes not getting enough variety.
I have the same issue with my DS. He used to eat anything and everything, including veges but then got to about 2 years old and became fussy I find if I make vege soup, chicken & corn soup, pumpkin soup whatever, and whizz it up so he can't see what's in it, he'll eat heaps of it! He loves dipping bread in it too and I always give him wholemeal or multigrain.
DS2 is the fussiest eater and only eats tiny amounts- For breakfast he eats weetbix and tinned peaches or cherrios and peaches (both are wholegrain) he eats homemade pizza- you can grate and hide vege under the cheese- once you have made the base a few times it gets easier- you just gotta remember early enough so the dough can rise. Smoothies/ milkshakes- you can shove complan/ sustigen/ protein powder into these and probably could put fine metamusil if needed. We do milk, yoghurt, fruit, and vanilla or strawberry complan.
Homemade tortilline is also a good way to hide stuff and again once you have made the pasta base afew times it gets easier, then you can put vege and meat into the pasta and seal it. (I freeze batches of them put enough in for all the kids in a bag and make lots of bags)
Hope some of this helps
