i know this thread has been asked a million times but...............
my newborn loves being held and i hate him being awake and alone and with 2 other young children its easier to just carry him,
but it leaves me one handed and while im a pro at multi-tasking much faster with 2 hands lol
im a slight frame and 5'4 with a bad back so i need a carrier thats got great back support, is light and has bubs facing into me (feels much snugglier that way)
ive seen both of those names pop up lots of BB, so ill be looking into the CC, whats the ergo and why did you change to it?
with my son i used a baby bjorn(sp???) and i only used it as i was desperate and found it bad for my back (he was heavier then my new bubs but not that much)
I had ergo before DS1 was born but didnt like it with the infant insert, it is awesome after about 4 months when they have better head control, I t can be used on front, back hip. I can carry DS1 who is nearly 3 in it for long periods, last year I walked down to the nobbies at phillip island with him on my back with no discomfort.
Close carrier gets bubba very snuggled and secure against you.
i actually have an ellaroo ring sling which i bought for public breastfeeding and slightly concerned about using it currently to carry him as my back is still so sore from pregnancy and hormones and still having back spasms
I found that the hug a bub good for holding a baby in tight and snug against your body without discomfort. Reason being is they become "part" of your body as such, so the weight is held central if that makes sense. I used it for Oskar, but not Elijah. I liked it but didn't like the fiddly putting it on bit but I'm sure if I actually persisted more and practised I'd have gotten able to do it really fast like some others I've seen lol. It's the only carrier I've used that truly did allow you to be free with both hands to do things. You can lean over and all. I have the Ergo also and love that one lol. I used that at the shops when Elijah was unsettled. Again, probably could've used it more, but I have a laziness when it comes to putting something on to settle the baby lol.
I have a baby trekker/octopus carrier and it is amazing. I used it from the time DD was newborn and still use it now at 12 months. It is super easy to put them in and soooooo comfortable. I have a bad back too and with this one you barely feel like you are carrying them. Bonus is it has a pounch in the front I can put my wallet and keys in
