    Offering tradies coffee/tea/drinks

We've got a landsaper here for at least 5 hours. At what point do we offer him a drink etc? Hes landscaping so obviously not while he is on the digger..

Maybe a couple of hours in? It's not hot today so I doubt he'll be parched but he'll probably take a break at some point and have a drink & maybe something to eat??

At some stage when you pop out to see how he is going I would offer. I know some people don't, I always do and they don't take it up more than they do as they usually have brought something of their own with them but I still feel it's nice to offer especially if it's a cold day to have a warm drink, or a cold one on a hot day.

Or if you're making a coffee for yourself, take out a thermos for him?

My mum loves a cuppa and would often it as soon as he arrived I'd just ask soon.

I always say to them when they first arrive to let me know if there's anything I can get them beverage wise like a cold drink or a cuppa, that way I've put it out there that its okay to ask for it, but its on them to ask. Of course, up here tradies get hot and bothered pretty quickly so if I think they really need a drink and are just afraid to ask or something, I'll just put a glass of ice water out for them as if they're Santa or something

i would ask straight away. i would also go out and offer if he needs to use the toilet at all. my dh is a tradie and says this is something that he sometimes needs and he loves it if someone offers and he doesn't have to go through the embarassment of asking.
often he will have ladies offer him cups of coffee/tea, biscuits, scones, even chicken and avocado sandwhiches one time! which he absolutely loves

I would ask straight away, and then again every couple of hours. If they say yes to a cuppa I would also take out a sandwich or biccies (depending on what I have in the house).
