hubby got the sack whats going to happen to payments etc

i've been trying to get intouch with centrelink but no success its engaged all day
so thought if any of you's might know what to do.
hubby got sacked friday, he's been trying to get the certificate that day and sat, today he goes in and they have to get head office to send one out which will take to at least the end of the week to recieve!
i'm trying franticly to work out finances as we have a morgage and we have to get into contact with them about this but with no money making repayments without his earnngs will be hard. i am hoping he'll pick up another job very shortly but you know its no garentee that something will come up within a week.
he earns well when he's working (about 90 to 100k a year) so we only recieve base FTB, i am spot on with my esimates, and i am worried if my payments go up we will end up owing money cause i was told while he's unemplyed ill recieve parenting payment and higher FTB.
he's got a phone interview with them friday, but trying to contact centrelink myself i cannot get through, and im stressing (i dont like being behind in payments, owing money etc). and with 3 kids you cant just let everything fall to pieces.
does anyone know whats happens when a partner has to claim for no work, does it affect yor payments and can those payments be not included in a usually circumstance (my SIL said she and her dh had to claim once and they said it wasnt included in year to date earnings or something as you were unemployed at the time).
we've never had to do this before as he always found more work the same day, and its just stressing me out not being able to get through to talk to someone about all this in detail and actually getting facts IYKWIM.
thankyou to anyone who can help me xxx

fao are open 8-8 - you just need to keep hitting redial - it is peak time at the moment so it's hard to get through

you will be able to apply for parenting payment alongside his newstart - year to date earnings for ftba purposes won't be included as you will automatically get max rate part a if on income support. depending on how long he is unemployed, you may get a small reduction in ftb as your ppp will be taxable

the actual granting of parenting partnered will depend on a lot of factors that hinge on what is written on that separation certificate regarding leave pay outs etc - if he gets a termination payment, it will be expected to sustain you guys for as many days as it is paid for (so four weeks termination payment in a lump sum may delay your payment starting by 4 weeks)

thankyou so much their is no payouts he's entitled too just layed off, he's been layed off or stood down (which he's was put on holidays without pay he had no choice at another job) so its been a rocky year. i never recieved any payments only FTB, so this is all new to me. we usually only get just on $300 a fn for ftb, and i would hate to mess everything up with our good run with estimating. i first time i ever had ftb we did not estmate right and had to pay back over 1000 so you can see i never want to make another mistake like that. i never had or paid tax before or never had a job no one would emply me so i dont know the first thing about doing things.
thankyou so much for the info ill keep trying fingers crossed ill get through xx

just keep hitting redial - and when you go for your finalisation interview, ask them there to help you update your estimate appropriately

Another thing to look into would be any insurances you have on the mortgage, they may cover loss of earnings and be able to pay your repayments temporarily

i dont think we were offered that or it may be automaticly included as we are with a goverment system keystart in wa. cause if they mentioned it we would of certainly would of taken the insurance out (i know what the construction and boilermaker industry is like mainly causals not f/t so they can sack them easier lol), every job we see is causal and if their is full time (this job was supposed to be fulltime in a couple of weeks!) they seem to be harder to find.
