    Red face Pinata's

A couple of weeks ago i made an octopus Pinata for the kids to belt up at Nanna's 89th birthday.

Our nephews birthday is this week and i asked him to pick something and i would make him 1, i said something ROUND as i'm working off a balloon, he chose Kung Fu Panda - i found a GREAT design for it but have decided now to confuse myself and make him the dinosaur i know he really wants.

So i've blown up the balloon and make a squarish shaped jaw out of wire covered in masking tape and stuck it around the balloon so i can make the head all in 1 piece.

the first layer is drying and the 2 girls have gotten into already and my jaw is out of shape

Another layer tomorrow then painting on Thursday, fingers crossed for me.

Does anyone else make their own pinata?

Lol, the paper mache side of it was easy, it's making it look like something that was hard
Looking at the outline of my 'dinosaur' right now it would be better suited as a motorbike helmet or a duck

True, but it was so much fun watching the kids smash the first one, well worth the effort

Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!

The children and I made one for DH's birthday a couple of months ago. We just did a straight balloon shape but they thought it was fantastic - they had a great time doing the paper mache.
