Hello
I am desperate for help. Our 9 month old nearly 10 month old is bub number 3..
She wont eat anything other than tinned pureed fruit or yoghurt....
I have tried weetbix, vegies, everything and she just refuses to eat ... She is of course constipated cause she is not getting enough food but what can i do???? My other's didn't do this at all they were introduced to solids and everything was fine but no not number 3... What's making it worse is that i am 7 months pregnant with our 4th and i am worried how i am going to cope She loves sitting in her highchair and loves holding the spoon but refuses to eat..... PLEASE HELP I NEED TO GET THIS SORTED
She wont drink water and drinks about 4 bottles a day, she sleeps through most nights but occasionally wakes for a feed at night too... She ususally has a jar of fruit at lunchtime and a yoghurt around dinner time...HOPING THERE IS SOME HELP OUT THERE FOR ME
Do you eat at the same time, or do the other kids sit with her? Other people' s food is often more exciting than what is own bub's plate.
Have you tried giving her food on her tray and just play with it? toast fingers, banana, cucumber, steamed sticks of vegies, meat it might take her awhile before she swallows some, but the touching and feeling, hopefully tasting are all steps on the way to eating.
What sort of things do you eat? offer her food from your plate. little quiches or muffins can be good. slice potato and then bake it in the oven and it gives you chips (my daughter's fav)
I was going to suggest similar to HotI. I've never used purees or baby foods, but my DD was very similar. Only yoghurt until about 10months, then finally after months of playing with food she just started eating. She's a great eater now.
My kids prefer food they can help themselves to. Check out the baby led solids threads for some ideas.
Food is still for fun rather than nutrition until they're one.
