Hi again Baby09, I am Vic (if you find it easier than wysiwyg - which is a bit of mouthful) - yes it is very quiet in here. How is Thomas going? Stirling is doing well, sleeping very well at night - a little too well in my opinion as he lost more than 10% of his birth weight so they are watching that closely so I need him to do plenty of feeding. He does tend to cluster feed all evening so maybe it is fine - we shall see - his sister was pretty much the same.
How are you finding having a boy after a girl? - I seem to get sprayed with wee most nappy changes, and if not me the clothes he is wearing - but hopefully I will get the hang of it soon.
Thomas was a big boy too wasn't he - what size suits is he in - the 0000 wondersuits I had never fitted and to be honest the 000 ones are not quite long enough - but not sure as they are hand me downs if have shrunk or not. I seem to have loads of clothes (given lots of hand me downs) but not many all in ones and I prefer those in this colder weather so debating what size should buy.
Hopefully if we get some chatter going others will join us soon!
DS is quite long - 56cm - I've found he just fits in 000 Wondersuits and target suits. Bonds tend to be smaller sized too so I have him in target 000 under bonds 00!
He lost 9% of his weight and only put on 105g in 6 days so I'm being watched closely too and have been told to formula top up in the afternoon. I have expressed and topped up yesterday and today and will have him weighed tomorrow to see how we are going - I FF DD due to low supply but I would love to BF if possible!
I'm finding it a little different having a boy - I've only been weed on twice so far! I'm so much more relaxed this time - I wish I had been like this with DD :-)

Hope Thomas' weigh in went well. Thanks for the wondersuit etc sizing info, sounds like mine have not shrunk then Stirling just long. We have his 2 week check today so will see what length comes out at, he already seems to long for our laundry sink which is where bath him. I don't think will have quite regained his birth weight yet but will be happy with 4.3kg.
All still going well here, he is sleeping very well and only thing I want to ask MCHN about is a squeaking noise he makes when feeding normally at beginning when is excited. He sounds just like a squeaky toy!!
See a few more of our due date group have had their bubs so will hopefully join us in here soon.
Hi, Yes we had Stirling's on Monday - he is 5.05kg and 57cm so really stacking on the weight - he does feed quite a lot and my DD stacked it on too. He has had spots pretty bad on his face but they are starting to go now which is good. He isn't that great a sleeper in the day but is at night (only waking once if at all to feed) so can't complain I suppose - again he is just like his sister in this respect.
I thought we might have had some others join us in here by now. Glad Thomas is doing well. How is your DD with him? Mine loves Stirling a little too much and is always in his face, or cuddling too enthusiastically, also she hates to hear him cry or even whinge so hassles me to pick him up if he makes slightest noise. She seems so big now in comparison to him, and seems to have grown up a lot - maybe I just treat her less like a baby now?
I have left him with my mum a couple of times, not for that long due to the feeding but I was thinking about how hard I found it to leave DD and how easy I found it to leave him - I suppose been there done that, makes it easier second time round.
DS is sleeping from about 7:30 til 11:30 then he does 2 to 3 hourly feeds. I can't complain, although it is taking some getting used to as DD was formula fed and started sleeping through from 6 weeks!
It is very quiet in here, I wonder if anyone else will join?
DD has her moments where she absolutely loves DS and wants to hold, kiss, hug him and has other times when she will try to push him off me when I'm feeding. She seems a lot bigger and also more of a toddler and less of a baby too.
I've also left him with my mum, which I didn't do with DD until she was a lot older (nothing against my mum I just didn't want to leave her!). It is definitely easier this time round and I'm a lot more easy going!

Hi there ladies. Is it ok if I join? Elizabeth was born on the 12th July but I can't find a group for this date. I'd better try and catch some sleep now but I'll post a bit more info on us a bit later.
Welcome Tilda & Elizabeth. Yes feel free to join us, it does appear there is no-one in the July 1st - 15th group.
Stirling had a hip ultrasound yesterday, DD had Hip dysplasia, (developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH)) - so the scan was just to double check no issues with him as the likelihood is increased if someone in family has it. Anyway the sonographer said hips look good although we have to get that confirmed next week, so hooray - DD had to wear a brace for 4 months and it wasn't that bad but wasn't great either.
Welcome Sepata (have added you to the list, let me know any other details about Isaiah you want me to add, e.g. weight etc), my DS was also born on the 17th July. He is being an angel - his sister on the other hand has been a complete nightmare today! Can't wait for her to go to bed in half an hour. Tonight first night doing bedtime on my own, DS currently asleep so hopefully he will stay sleeping till DD is in bed.
Thanks Vic. Isaiah was born at 13.01 weighing 2.90kg. He was super little, though I don't know how long that will last as he's going through a growth spurt at the moment - feeding hourly through the day, and even then doesn't seem satisfied! Hope bedtime went well for you, I'm waiting to see how long bubs will sleep for before he wakes up starving :P
Well bedtime that day went ok. DS did wake up just as was about to put DD to bed but he just came in for a story too. He had is injections yesterday and is now running a bit of a temp and has been super sleepy today - DH has to go buy some baby panadol as ours is well out of date (have hardly had to use any at all with DD). DS is still sleeping well overnight but is still a pain in the evenings, he won't go to sleep in his cot for any length of time and in the end I give up and bring him back into lounge where he falls asleep and then transfers to his cot fine! I hope can get that sorted soon, as I miss having some time in the evenings to do things like sewing, and artwork which are hard with baby on lap.
Hope everyone elses bubs are doing well - and coping ok with the injections if having them.
DS was 5950g, 61cm at his 8 week check, so about 500g heavier than his sister at same age and 3cm longer. He is growing out of his clothes quite fast (mainly in the the length)
Hi again. It's taken me awhile to get back! Well Bess was born 2 weeks early by CS on 12 July weighing nearly exactly 3kg. I was so surprised at how different she was to DD1 (who is now 21 months). She was an excellent feeder straight off the bat and has been a much better sleeper so far. But we are getting some similar evenings to you Wysiwyg - she's on my lap right now. We had an absolute nightmare evening tonight. DD1 fell asleep in the pram on the way to playgroup today and wouldn't go down for her proper nap so she was beside herself tonight and throwing massive tantrums. Meanwhile, poor Bess was also overtired and unsettled and couldnt get enough of my time for a decent feed. She's falling into a pattern of sleeping for hours and hours in the morning and not much in the afternoon and is then difficult to settle for the night. I'm wondering if I should shorten her morning sleep. But its hard to bring myself to wake a sleeping baby!!
Only limited success in freeing up my evenings here, it is very hit and miss. Overnight he is an angel but after 27 months of being a great sleeper his sister is now the one causing issues, she moans and talks in her sleep which wakes me up, and about once a week is waking up screaming for me and then won't go back to sleep on her own, but if I am in her room I can't hear DS (DH wears earplugs - and all he could do would be come and get me anyway) so I have to move the monitor and then once I leave her have to move it back! Only good thing is she doesn't seem to mind me leaving her if he is screaming! but otherwise wants me to stay. So at least if he wakes up I get to go back to my own bed. The other issue is she is very sensitive to him crying, I don't do CIO but I do let him whinge a little when he is going down for a nap (normally whinges for a minute then goes to sleep) but the problem is she is then at me "Stirling's crying pick him up mummy" all the time - not really that sure how to deal with that.
Tilda, I do wake a sleeping baby - I just find it impractical to never do it - especially as have commitments with DD - it all depends on the situation but I do tend to look at it as sometimes as adults we have to get up earlier than we would like, and we cope, so I figure they can too. I had the same approach with DD and apart from the recent overnight waking she has been a great sleeper, and in general will sleep anywhere, and even if she falls asleep in car etc will get out come in and finish her nap in bed - so although people say never wake a sleeping baby it doesn't seem to have done her any harm. Also I hate being stopped from sleeping when I am falling asleep (I think it is one of the worst things to be forced to fight sleep e.g. when watching a movie, in a meeting etc), so I never stop my two from sleeping if they are dozing off, but I will wake them up (as that is my preference and I figure they should be a little bit like me :-))
I feel very lucky that bubs is such a good little sleeper. Even on days where he misses his naps and is unsettleable all afternoon, once we start our bedtime routine he starts calming down and settles well. At the moment he sleeps from 6pm to about 12ish, and then goes back down and sleeps through till about 7ish. I've got my everything crossed that he stays this way!
We went to Canberra this weekend gone to visit my bff, it was bubs first long trip anywhere and he did so well. He was fine for the car trips, and didn't find being in a different environment overwhelming. It's really great to know that we can take him places and not worry.
I hope you're kids are letting you guys get a bit more sleep than before
