middle ear infections and swimming lessons - advice?

so it turns out DS has had a middle ear infection and we just started swimming lessons. We are onto our 4th lot of AB's and I forgot to even ask if I should keep DS out of the water. The lessons aren't until Sat so I have time to call the surgery just wondering if anyone could give me a heads up in the meantime
Should I be letting DS have swimming lessons if his ears aren't completely healed?

    TIA

i used to get middle ear infections all the time, i used to put in those waxy type ear plugs and a put a swimming cap on..
im not too sure if you should keep him out of the water though?? id say they would probably recommend keeping him out of the water until he is better
id ring just to be on the safe side

I wouldn't take him swimming until it's all cleared up.

I'd probably avoid it. You could do what we do with the kids, coz they are so prone to ear infections & use vasoline or ear plugs (but they are hard to seal on a little boy), but its never guaranteed.
When DD1 had her grommits we had to use ear plugs & a swimming cap to try keep the water out of her ears & even then it occasionally got in...
