Smile For parents of 2.5 year old's....

    TWO AND A HALF.

    "Hold him a little longer
    Rock him a little more
    Tell him another story
    (you've only told him four)
Let him sleep on your shoulder
    Rejoice in his happy smile
He is only two and a half
    For such a little while!"

I really love this, and wanted to share it with all those other Mum's with children the same age.... as challenging as our little one's can be some days, they really do grow up too fast and we'll miss these days!! Sometimes when I find my DD1 very challenging, I think to myself "well, I can get angry about it or I can just stop and remember she's only 2 and won't always be this little".... my DD1 has been so amazing considering the huge change in her life with the addition of her new baby sister and she's handled it so well!! She helps me out with nappy changes, hands me the burp towel without me even asking her, even gets me a drink of water from our fridge without me asking her!! (we have a tap on our fridge door) and she's really done lots of growing these past 8 weeks since having our 2nd bub. I'm SO PROUD of my little 2.5 year old

Just what I needed. It's been a full on week.

It is amazing how much a sibling makes them grow.

    Well done mum!

That's lovely Shanti and so true. My toddler is definitely going through the terrible 2's and I sometimes forget that she is learning to and I need to be more patient with her. I'll try to remember to calm down and read that extra story (for the 10th time) and just enjoy her for now.

    That's gorgeous Shanti!

My DS2 who is only 2.5 is an absolute delight to be around. He is full on at times like any boy or child his age is meant to be, but i find the more i talk to him the more he positively responds. I even got complimented by a lady in the chemist this afternoon because he said thankyou and blew her two kisses as we were leaving.

I love my 2.75 year old and I just blinked and missed so much over the 9 months I was pregnant and feeling too sick to explore the world really thoroughly with my beautiful boy.

I wish I could hold him all day long and I miss him so much now there's a newborn distracting me.

someone stop him growing so quickly!

It really is such a gorgeous age isn't it? Between 2 and 3.... they are just so cute. I love how my DD1 says to complete strangers at the shops "hello, I have a puppy at home" it's so cute.... she's always wanting to chat to people. Breaks my heart though when other adults or kids don't respond to her!!

Just this afternoon I was in the car chatting to DH and DD1 was in the back and said "Mummy, you're a good talker" how cute is that.

    Aww, that's so adorable!

It reminds me of the 'my hands were busy' poem someone posted on bb awhile back!

Reminds me of the important things in life, and not to get so hung up if we're running a little late to get somewhere, or if something isn't perfect - it's cool..

Lol Shanti yours sounds similar to mine - she says to DH tonight after the bath "Daddy I can't get dressed, I'm having a chat with Craig!" (cousin's hubby). Then she turns to Craig and says "So how was your day?"

Don't forget she's nudie through this whole exchange
