My baby has a cold :(

I know she was bound to get sick at some stage but it's breaking my heart to see my poor little girl sick!
She has a nasty cough, it started about 10 days ago as just a dry cough but is sounding quite chesty now. We are off to the Dr again today, just want to keep a close eye on it.
Her poor little nose is running like a tap and she has a tanty every time I try to wipe it. She kept waking herself up all night with the cough and is having trouble feeding because her nose is snuffly.
I'm using baby Vicks on her chest and feet, but there's not much else I can do I don't think. Going to buy a vaporizer today!
Posting for no reason really, I just feel so sorry for my poor little girl

I hear ya. I sick baby is the worst Mine is just getting over a cold. I feel like never going out again so she doesn't get sick!! Though that's not very practical.

Hope she's better soon, it's so heartbreaking when they're sick, you wish you could take it for them

Their first illness is awful Hope you got the vapouriser, they're great. Childrens Panadol or Nurofen really helps too, often their ears are affected. Poor little chicken, hope she's better soon

My DD was about the same age when she got her cold too It's horrible, I really feel for you. We elevated the bed to help with her nose not getting too blocked etc and drainage. We also used the humidifier but just a warning, we used it every night and despite airing out the room all day every day we ended up getting mould on the ceiling. Annoying!!

I also wiped down the cot in the parts where she couldn't reach with the same stuff I put in the humidifier to help clear her nose and also made sure to keep up the fluids, it seemed to help.

Hope she gets better soon.

I'm sitting in dd room with her right now trying to help her get to sleep, she's not happy but her room is smelling great, I bought the Vicks vaporizer. It's great!! Thanks ladies!
