I just realised that in 13days the GNOR system opens up
(for those that do not know what this is, it's the RN graduate program for QLD health)
This is everything we have been working towards...
This is the beginning of the end of a very long road!
And I haven't done my Resume yet, I haven't thought much of it... What I write on there, what i say WILL determine if I get in to a grad program or not...
It's really competitive out there... How am I meant to talk myself up when I don't think that highly of myself at all...
Just start with the basics on your resume - the what where and how. Then look around at some job seeking sites - they have great tips on cover letters and resumes and you can start polishing it. It takes longer than you think though especially if you plan to start from scratch so I would start soon. You need to talk it up while still sticking to the truth. But when you think about job skills you always have more than you think, and often it is just wording it they way that will catch their eye. Another good technique is to look at ads for jobs that you want and look at the skills they seem to be asking for - make sure you include those skills in your resume and using the exact words they use can help, especially if they look through heaps in one go and are just seeing who ticks all the boxes. Good luck! I am sure you will be great.
I cant help you with advice because Im barely managing to finish my first year BUT Im happy to lend an ear so you can sort through your choices! Im sure you'll do great (and hopefully let me pick your brain sometimes? )
