    How clutzy is too clutzy?

DS2 is constantly tripping over - whether it's tripping over his own feet, toys, anything really. He walks a little bow-legged, but he's not quite 20 months. He walks and runs (as only a 19-mo can run) very well. But lately I've noticed just how often he's tripping over. Honestly, if there is a kink in the matt, or a solitary toy on the floor, DS2 has an amazing ability to find it and trip over it. Geez, sometimes he doesn't even need an excuse - he just trips.

DS1 wasn't a clutz, but DS2 certainly is. So I'm just wondering how many others have clutzy kids. And does it sound like DS2 is more clutzy than you would reasonably expect?

My DS is nine and we laugh about his ability to fall over fresh air!
Like your DS if there is anything at all on the ground you can guarantee he will trip over it, his own feet included.
I think it is because he is so focused on whatever he is doing at the time or going to do that he forgets "left foot, right foot, breathe in breathe out, left foot, right foot ........"
20mths is still little so I wouldnt worry yet. How does his eye hand coordination seem?? DS is a shocker on his feet at times but can catch a ball from anywhere anytime with no sorries at all.

Thanks for the replies gals - I'm sure you're on to something when you say they're just focused and in a hurry.
Stacey, yes, I think his hand eye coordination is ok for his age. He's quite a forward little fella most of the time - doesn't hesitate to try something new, so it would make sense that he doesn't stop to look where he's going lol.
