DH works away from home. We have to move soon, so he's coming here to help me sort out the house & yard.
He was planning to come home today or tomorrow, after he see's his boss. Was about to head over (lives on the property), but then found out the boss's DD has whooping cough.
DH's best mate lives there with him & is his boss's nephew, so in contact with the family. DH isn't in close contact with the kids, but see's the boss every few days. Just went camping & fishing for a night & its possible the boss was there too.
I had a booster when DD was born, all the kids are immunised, DH hasn't had a booster shot.
I'm guessing the chances of DH bringing it home would be pretty slim, but with the links he has to the DD I am a bit worried...
Am I being silly? Is there a chance he could bring whooping cough home with him? DD3 is already getting a flu/infection. Ear ache, snot, cough. No fevers yet. So immunity might be a bit low...
Whooping cough would be so scary! I'm not sure of what the chances would be for your DD to catch it through your DH (I would say probably fairly low). Maybe you could call one of those nurses on call or your local doc to find out? Is it too late for your DH to have the booster shot? I had mine when DS was born too, and DF was meant to get it but he never did....men! Big hugs hun, I'm sure all will be OK
I'm thinking if you've already been in contact its probably too late. I don't know, but I know he'd find an excuse not to get it
Ah well, he's been away since she was quite little. So it'll take a few days for her to warm up to him again anyway. By then if he were gonna get it hopefully there's be some symptoms showing...

DD1 & DD2's best friends (they are sisters) and their Mum (but not their Dad) have all had whooping cough for the last 2 months. All of us have been in close contact with them (almost daily over that time) but we have all had the vax and adults have had the boosters. None of us have caught it and nobody else in contact with them has had it either.
