Here is what I did with DD:
jumped on my bed lol
Hate a burrito with hot sauce
Took a laxative
Considered castor oil..but thankfully backed out
Fast walked 2 miles every day
Took EPO
Had Sex!
2 days later..my water broke
Relevent history-
* Plug & show gone,
* Cervix started dilating,
* Cervix shortening and soft,
* Contractions that come and go (yes real ones,)
* Bub's head is engaged and able to be felt through OS.
* Anterior positioning (yays!)
That's all I can think of atm.
Current management plan-
* CTG 16th Aug,
* S&S 16th Aug,
* Induction date to be discussed and decided on for somewhere between the 16th and 23rd Aug.
What I want-
* I do not mind the S&S but would prefer it to not have to go that far,
* I do not want a drug induced induction (gel or synto), although understand and agree with why it will go ahead if labour does not start spontaniously.
* I would love to get this baby out on or by the 16th to avoid as much medical intervention as posssible.
If you have any ideas on how to give this labour a good boot up the backside and into gear, please share lol.

I beat an induction at 39 weeks with no early labour symptoms.
1. Accupressure points (found online)
2. Sex
3. Last resort night before induction, caster oil. 2 hours later my waters broke.

Naturally Inducing Labour - Natural Induction Methods
I think the pressure points thing is a biggie, I know lots of people including myself who have gone into labour after an induction massage or induction acupuncture. You can also say no to induction. You're not designed to be pregnant forever![]()

Accupressure points are a good one. I have an induction massage booked in at 39 weeks. I did everything including the castor oil (got contractions but nothing progressed) a second s&s worked for me and I was in labour by the time I got home. You must be soooo frustrated! How many weeks will you be by the 16th? Maybe they can do it before then?
I wouldn't recommend castor oil. It gives some women diahorea and its not great fun in labour. There is also debate over it affecting the baby or not if it crosses the placenta, possibly stimulating meconium, but there is no proof either way. There are other much better ways to try.

I did all of the natural methods. Every single one. None of them worked, and I ended up having a gel induced labour (at 12 days over) although I'd had contractions on the way to the hospy so I think the gel just kicked things along a bit. I submitted to the induction because I was sick of fighting it, and we were able to refuse any further interventions. I ended up having a wonderful birth.
Do everything you can, put some energy into fighting the induction, and much more into getting yourself ready to welcome this baby, and be happy in the knowledge that you are doing everything possible. I reckon that'll help the most![]()
I should add, I did have a medical induction this time at 37.5 weeks, I didn't try too hard to beat it because it was so early but it was necessary to save my baby's life.
It wasn't terrible. Like you I had early labour symptoms and was 2cm dilated before it began. It all went smoothly.
I was terrified of an induction and angry because I wanted a water birth and I ended up attached to a ctg (but I could stand up and move a bit), but having had it I regret nothing because my baby would have died.
They put the gel on and contractions started right away. Labour wasn't rushed, it took about 12 hours from the gel to delivery. They broke my waters after about 8 hours, but I was already in serious labour by then.
So do what you can, but keep the end goal in mind which is bringing your baby safely into the world. Carry no regrets in your heart once you're holding your bubba in your arms.

Totally understand your decision and what happened with your situation kuraiza, so not dismissing that at all - there are very important reasons why we have inductions.
I just want to point out though in a healthy baby, it is safer without an induction. Its very much out of control now, so many women being induced and so many emergency c/s as a result. So sometimes saying no to an induction can be the healthiest, safest thing to do, especially when damprye seems to have favourable things going on (unless there is a medical condition I dont know about).

I completely agree, I did not want to be induced and went through all the stages of mourning over the loss of my water birth, but in the OP's case I wondered if there was a medical condition because of all the pre-planning involved.
I was so afraid of an induction I had a fairly negative headspace and held onto fear through labour, which wasn't healthy. I tried to find someone's account of an induction at 37 weeks so I would know what to expect but I couldn't find anything, so I wanted to share my account in case it helps release the fear and give the best chance of a positive outcome.

I'll be 37weeks 6days on the 16th.
"Full term" today
It has been a fairly complicated pregnancy, including PROM @ 24weeks which resulted in infection, severe HG, spotting and now bleeds more regulary.
Also going by my charts rather than u/s, the 16 was my original due date so I don't quite mind, especially as bub is measuring big (yes I know they can be wrong) and I have a small pelvic opening.
I had a traumatic birth with DS and he was a normal size weighing in at 8lb4oz, not helped by pelvis and this baby is estimated to be 8lbs as of yesterday and growth scans have shown that bub has been growing an estimated 1 and a half pound per fortnight so going till 38/39 weeks, I'm likely to have another good sized baby. Yes I know people say that no baby is too big to birth but with everything else going on and history with DS, it is best for both me and bub to come out sooner rather than later so I will not be fighting the induction if we make it that far, I'd just prefer not to have to be induced. I'm not afraid of it, just wanting a more natural birthing experience.
I've been DTD, going for long fast walks (boy they are both horrible for pain), bouncing and swaying on my fitball, started EPO and RLT last night (got the go ahead yesterday) and gone on bumpy car rides lol.
Definately not going caster oil, (TMI) been pooping like a trooper all yesterday afternoon/night as it is lol.
The day before my waters broke I did a 4hr mad rush of christmas shopping and had sex that night. Next morning woke up to a trickle and whammo all systems go
I was told when I went into hospy after my waters broke I'd be booked for an induction the following morning. You can say no. Bub will come eventually hehe.
How are you Damprye? Any progress?
