I don't know if the wash will have 'set' it... BUT you could try hairspray.... it lifts permanent ink from most materials. Saturate the stain with hairspray and then blot with a cloth.
Good luck x
*Mods - not sure if this is the correct section *
Yesterday I decided to wear my gorgeous, gorgeous pale grey skinny jeans that DH brought me a while ago. Enter DS and a permanent marking texta which he accidently drew a big stripe down my leg *sob*. I sprayed them with Preen and washed them but it's still on there. Anyone have any nifty tips that I could use to remove it? This is the exact reason I don't wear nice clothes around my kids![]()

Thanks Krystals! Will give it a shot - anything is worth a try as they are pretty much ruined now anyway. Thanks x
i used nail polish to blot permanent ink from fabric. Just make sure you blot it off till its all gone, don't apply & walk away as the ink with run & it will look worse.
i got red perm marker on the back of my mums car seat when i was a kid and she got it out with metho.
otherwise, take it to a seamstress and get her to cut out the marker and put a funky patch in it's place ><;
We use Aeroguard to remove permanent marker, works really well on hard surfaces, I am not sure about fabrics, but I would look at testing it on a piece of fabric and then perhaps making a paper towel damp with the aeroguard and blotting and see what happens, I wouldn't rub it as it may spread it.
And buy your DS some Crayola washable markers, DD1 had drawn on so many clothes with those and so glad it has come out![]()
Woo-hoo! The hairspray seems to have worked! I sprayed it on and wiped with a cloth and it looks like it has disappeared! Just chucked them into the wash so hopefully they come out ok. Yay, yay,yay! They are my favourite jeans and I loved DH just that tiny bit more when he picked them and brought them for me as a surprise present (it's also nice to know your husband thinks you look good in skinny jeans)
Beema - DS does have washable markers and I think they are the best thing ever! This texta was on DH's desk while DS was watching You-tube videos of garbage trucks on the computer (yes, who would of ever thought they had that on You-tube lol!). It is normally in the locked draw along with the sissors, hole punch, super glue and any other item that looks exciting to a 4 year old boy![]()
great to hear!!! Nothing like a pair of jeans you KNOW you look great in!!!!
(Oh, and how amazing is the hairspray trick?!!!!)
So glad it is coming out, gosh you must have breathed a huge sigh of relief!
Don't they always find the things you don't want them too![]()
