Top Loader Washing Machine Qs

so...our front loader washing machine blew up last week and dh has bought a brand new top loader (he is thrilled, always hated the front loader) anyway, i still have some front loader specific washing powder here. my question is- can i use it in the top loader or will it cause damage to the new machine? do i have to buy top loader specific washing powder?

I believe the only difference is the front loader powder is the amount of bubbles it creates in the machine as front loaders cannot cope with the amount of bubbles that top loaders can, therefore having said that, I would think you should be OK to use a front loader powder in a top loader, but top loading powder should not be used in a front loader

My top loader has a sign on it requesting only front loader or matic washing powder, so yes- I think you can :-)

This is what my top loader said too. I'd be using it - it's too expensive to waste.
