I was gonna put this in Woo Hoo, but 'tis all about work so I figured I'd put it here.
Some of you know I had a breakdown about 3 months ago. I've been mostly off work since then, doing on average one day a week, if I was going at all. There's been about 6 weeks where I didn't go in at all.
I've been keeping my manager up to date, she's an absolute gem, and has constantly told me not to worry about work, just focus on getting myself better. I hadn't spoken to my boss though, he was overseas for awhile, and then I was either not here or couldn't face talking to him. He was great, just left me alone to do my thing.
Today I'm in the office, and managed to sit down for a chat with him. He said he's not concerned about my work, my manager's been keeping him fully up to date with where I am, and he found out I was doing some work from home. He thanked me for doing what I could, and for coming to talk to him personally, even though I didn't really tell him anything new. He also said that he's happy with what I'm doing at the moment, and we can chat about it again in 2 or 3 months time and see where I am then.
What an absolutely AWESOME boss, I just can't believe how lucky I am to be working here. And to think, when I saw the ad for this job last year, I wasn't going to apply because I thought it was out of my league!
