Daylesford, Morninton Peninsula or Great Ocean Road - where would you go?

My love and I are in desperate need of a weekend away to collect our thoughts and RELAX!

We live in Melbourne so would like to go somewhere we can drive to.

So who has been to any of the following and where did you stay? We'd like something a bit NOICE.

    Daylesford
    Morninton Peninsula
Great Ocean Road (Lorne, Apollo Bay etc)

    Thanks!

We have been to Daylesford and stayed in a gorgeous little cottage walking distance from the town - highly recommended!
Mornington Peninsula - lots of great wineries with places to stay - Salix at Willow Creek Winery is great

ETA - a friend just recommended Peninsula Hot Springs near Red Hill

I stayed at a holiday villa complex in Daylesford a couple of years ago which was really nice. We were there for a wedding.

If it were me, I'd definitely go back to the Great Ocean Road. We were on a road trip and stayed at a few places but that road and the views are amazing! We had started from the Adelaide end and did the Barossa Valley before heading down to the GOR. I guess it depends on how much time you have and whether you want a traveling holiday or to have a single base.

We went just past Colac a few months ago and stayed in Barongarook at Otway Estate Winery.
It was just gorgeous, it's about 10 mins out of Colac with gorgeous treed surroundings. You can have lunch/dinner there and they can also organise for food, wine and beer to be brought to your room for dinner (you just have to heat it up). They have a gorgeous spa in the floor and it's a real escape. They have a page on FB if you want to check it out.

A great thing to buy though is something called a SmartBox. We got one for Xmas last year and it was fantastic. You can get them online or at Target and they include a whole book of winery packages ie. we had 1 nights accommodation with a full beautiful breakfast in the morning, a bottle of wine and a winery tour. I think the Winery boxes are $250 but you can get all sorts ie. pampering, dinner for 2, sports and action They give you a broader idea of where you can go etc.

Man this post has taken me forever with the kids talking to me. I hope it makes sense

Ps. Wasn't trying to completely deviate from your plan but Colac you just turn right now instead of continuing on to the Great Ocean Road
