What should I wear? Son's baptism

    Hello ladies,

I'm hoping you can help. Coming up on 1 October is my son's baptism. The baptism is in a catholic church followed by a lunch back at our place. We've invited about 45 people. The church is a reasonably informal one and the baptism is part of the normal mass rather than a special ceremony.

I have no idea what to wear!!! For DS1 baptism I wore a black Leona Edminson dress but that was in a more formal church and we went out to a restaurant afterwards. I guess because we are going back to my place this time (so good not living in an apartment!) I think I should dress a bit more informally? But at the same time I want to look noice and would prefer to dress formally at the church.

I'm a size 16 and my tummy is still reasonably large from pregnancy.

I like Leona Edminson dresses so might try and find something with a print rather than plan black but I'm in your hands.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Fiona

Depending on the weather could you maybe find a nice maxi dress and dress it up with a jacket and accessories?

I was on the Leona Edmiston online shop just yesterday..she has a sale on at the moment and one of her Leona Ruby dresses would be perfect with a pair of boots, it's half price at the moment
Otherwise, a nice denim skirt and top with boots and accessorise the outfit.

I would wear a dress with some low heals and a jacket/cardi if you are cold. When you get home, you can change your shoes.

I wore a fancy black skirt with a print top and killer heels to DS's dedication, and I wore a black and white print wrap dress with the same killer heels to my nephew's dedication.

I think anything you wear will fine I've seen people wearing everything from jeans with a nice top, to quite pricey looking dresses.

    hope it goes well

FabFi my church is pretty informal and I had people back to mine after both christenings - to DD's I wore grey dress pants and a satin top, to DS's I wore a stretchy lycra dress and heels. It was pretty dressy - I thought it was more important to dress to my perceived importance of the event rather than the church ITMS?

So to me: very important, so I dressed it up!

And I stayed in my fancies til after all the guests had left.

    Leona sounds great!

I've just been on the Leona store. I LOVE the Charlotte Shirtdress. Definitely buying that!!!

I like the maxidress idea. Might go with that.

    Thanks all.
