i so need to sub in on this one....we too are needing some tickets and need to keep those costs down...i want to be able to do a bit more shopping![]()
Has anyone flown Strategic Airlines?
I've been researching flights to the States and all of the Australia airlines are SO expensive in December.
We can get to LA via Honolulu for half the price of the Australian airlines, but the flight from Brisbane to Honolulu is with Strategic.
I've not heard much about them and am looking for some feedback please!
TIA, Nic

Never heard of them!
Have you checked for hidden costs/fees/charges? What's included: baggage allowance? Seat selection? Food? Make sure you're not going to charged for things when you arrive at the airport.
Off to google... I'm intrigued!
I'm pretty sure they are run by ex-department of Defence pilots. Worth looking into. I think the Melb - Honolulu flights look interesting.
My main concern would be are they another Tiger? I wouldnt go near them in a pink fit. Hopefully Strategic are better.
That's interesting Tashy about the ex-DOD thing.
I just asked a colleague here who is pretty well travelled (married a Russian and they go back to Russia at least once a year) and he said "Think Tiger". So that's not so good... As I, like tashy, wouldn't go near Tiger in a pink fit.
Their website isn't the most encouraging... there was no "Submit" button on the front page where you check fare prices and availabilities...
I've had a look at the site and was able to get fares and availabilities.
Interesting about the DOD... thanks Tash.
You have to buy food and drinks onboard, which doesn't bother me. And you hire an entertainment unit, which is only $15 for the whole flight... again, doesn't really concern me.
Baggage allowance is 23kg each, which is more than we would've got going with one of the Asian airlines I've been looking at.
Ho hum... decisions, decisions...
Hi girls,
Travel Agent here so I thought i'd help you out.
Strategic is a bit like Virgin Blue, its not as budget as Air Asia or Tiger but not full service like Qantas.
They mainly fly from Perth to Bali and Port Headland to Bali. To be honest Nic im not sure I would fly them to Honolulu, especially with you being as far along as you will be then.
As for the ex defence force thing - booked them for plenty of people and never heard that before.
