    VBAC2 after C-section then Myomectomy

    Hi all,

New to BB and this is my first post. I have Fibroids which i discovered during my first pregnancy. One died during my first trimester and while we thought they would cause no issues i ended up with a c-sction at 42weeks as i "Failed to Progress" (Was induced at 10 days over and never got past 4cms).

When i had the c-section they removed the dead fibroid and advised me that i should have the other two removed (Myomectomy) after my uterus had shrunk.

So now my little man is almost one and the hospital has contacted me with a spot for the operation.

And now after a year of getting over my birth experience and feeling ready to try for number two i am feeling torn and not sure what to do.
I really want to Try for a VBAC and know that if i go ahead with the surgery then i will have effectivly had 2 c-sections Also i feel that i have had a nice year of healing and that would be a better place to concive from rather than a freshly scared uterus (Even though the doctor said you can try for a baby 6 weeks after surgery)
I have seen a lot of story's of people who have had successfull pregnancy's without having the fibroids removed.

    My dilema is:

1: Reject the operation and get pregnant, so with having only one c-section i will be a VBAC, and when it comes to the crunch if i go into labour this time go for it, and i f i do not go into labour and still have what i call an
"incredably stuborn cervix that refuses to dialate" and have a c-section or face inducement again.

    Or

2: Have the Myomectomy and then hope for a VBAC2? which may also end up in a c-section.????

I was wanting to hear from anybody who may have had a similar experience, or any advice for or against what i have been advised so far.
It's a hard place to be as i know these days most of the medical proffessional's are quick to jump to c-section, and i have read some great article's recently on very succesfull VBAC2's and that a lot of the "worrry" over hemoraging due to scar tissue is unfounded.

While i will be talking all of this through again with the doctors at the hospital before i decide how to procede, It would just be nice to hear of/or from anyone who has been in a similar situation, and what your experiences are.
As just when i thoght i had made up my mind, that little voice in the back of my head keeps going "what if"

    Thanks Bec

    I've had 2 csections then a vba2c and vba2c2.

The rupture risk is only slightly higher with 2 sections under your belt

Oh and I don't know if I would be so hard on your cervix - inductions are rough and often lead to sections cos they're just not ready to be dilated by force yet lol

I think your biggest concern should be if not having the fibroid surgery and getting pregnant with fibroids would hamper your chance of a VBAC? If the fibroids do not impact on the VBAC option then I think its a personal choice for you. If it would impact on the VBAC then I would consider the surgery.

    Good luck!
