Question Thoughts on the Weeride bike seat

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, mods feel free to move...

I'm looking at getting DH a Weeride toddler bike seat for Father's Day (from DS!) and was wondering if anyone has one and what they thought. They're the bike seats where bub/toddler sits in front of you while you ride, kangaroo style. Did anyone look at these but end up getting the standard rear-mounted one - why?
    TIA

hello my lovely friend dh wants to get a seat for his bike, he tested one type out and is borrowing another friends to test that one out... I will ask him when he gets home and if they are still here you can check them out too.... I'm off to bed for a sleep.... Having separation anxiety as dh has taken ds down your end of the coast to visit a friend... furtherest we've been apart and the longest I just posted a sooky thread about it...... Good luck with the seat, hopefully someone else can help you out.

There is a thread about this around here somewhere. We liked it and used it a lot. DS is too big for it now though. It wa good as they are between your arms and you can see them and talk to them. The downside is that your leg don't rise as straight as with a normal bike because you put them a bit to the side to fit the seat in. I still liked it though.

We have a Bo-bike (similar to Weeride) and DD2 is still riding in it. She absolutely loves it and it is great from the perspective that you don't have to turn around to see them, you can talk to them and they don't have to lean out to see (and unbalance the bike). The other bonus is you can ride with a backpacj on or have a pack rack on the back of your bike. We often have DD1 attached at the back with a trailgator so the rear mounts weren't an option.

We had a weeride (on DH's bike) and DH and DD both loved it.

DH takes DS for rides all the time with the wee-ride. They both love it, DH says it feels much safer having him in front. DS even falls asleep on big rides, there is a little headrest and he looks pretty comfy.

    I'd highly recommend it!

I asked the same question in another thread a while back, and we bought one. It's fantastic. DD loves it, it's easy to ride with her on it. She's 2 1/2 and showing no signs of being too big for it. Go for it!

We LOVE our weeride. DD1 loved zooming around with DH and now DD2 loves it but unfortunately they are getting a little big (DD1 is 3.5). I like it in the front of the bike as well.

We also bought a wee-ride a couple of months ago. The bike shop guy recommended we wait until DD is 1, but we have been on a few short rides, and she absolutely LOVES it. DF did a lot of research beforehand, and just felt this was a better seat than the traditional kind, as PP's have said, with them being in front & protected by your arms & they can see better. DD rides with DF & he says it's comfy for him too

Thanks so much for your replies everyone. We hired bikes while we were on hols recently and DS loved being on the bike with DH (sitting behind him). I just felt it was a bit unfair that he couldn't really see anything so every time we pointed something out he'd miss it! He got a little bit sick of it after a while too and DH kept asking me "Is DS ok? Is he happy?" etc I think I'll go for it!

hi cherished! Hope you have your beautiful boy back in your arms again!

I meant to add that we got the bigger seat, it's a bit more padded, and will last longer. It was a bit more expensive though...

I ended up buying a second hand one off eBay. DH is not known for his love of physical pursuits , so if he decides he likes it and uses it, I'll happily get him a new one. Now to dust off his bike and give it a bit of a service before Sunday....
