    Icky TMI thrush question

Umm so this is a bit gross but I have that suspicious little itch that is usually fine but occasionally ends in waking up with a big disgusting thrush infection.

Does anyone know if there's any harm in just using a little bit of thrush cream on it to try and prevent potential thrush from happening?

TIA to anyone who has advice!

I wrote a reply and then realised I answered the question wrong!
I would do it - if you think it is thrush then i would do it because once it flares up it can be even more awful.... but that is just me.
Have you been on antibiotics recently or anything that would exacerbate the chances of it being thrush?

Loads of great thrush treatments and preventatives here. I think dietary issues play a huge role too.

Thankyou! Luckily no thrush this morning. Forgot to buy my yoghurt and probiotics this week although I can never seem to find the brand in the article. Had a nasty bout of it while on antibiotics a few months ago and really don't want it to recur! Thanks for sharing xoxo

I get recurrent thrush....I'm talking every month. At least I used to until I started taking probiotics. I haven't had it for six months now. I up the dosage if I feel like it's coming on. Sex seems to increase my chances so I up my dose after that. I have used a little bit of thrush cream too if I feel it coming on but I've found that since I've used the probiotics I haven't needed to. I also wash my underwear with fragrance free, low allergenic washing powder and use sorbolene wash, fragrance free instead of soap. I sound a little over the top but I was getting it so often that I tried everything. The doctor can't work out why I keep getting it. I've changed my diet and DH has been treated. I'm just more prone to it. But the probiotics are seriously worth it. Even though they are expensive, it's still cheaper than buying thrush cream all the time. Glad to hear that the trush isn't there this morning though.

Mad Scientist, has he tested you for bacterial vaginosis? Thats a possibility with monthly thrush. Also research the alkaline diet and im sure it'll help too.

Click my link above and watch the presentation at the end. He is one of the top probiotic redearchers in the world and specialises in womens heath, esp vaginal health. I learnt SO much! Easy to understand and makes so much sense.

    Hey Kelly,

Yep had every test under the sun! Looks like the probiotics are working though. I'm so happy now that I don't have to worry about it. Thanks for the suggestions though x
