    Question ****tail/Evening/Snazzy Dress...breastfeeding friendly?!?!

The first of my brothers is getting married in March but I am starting to worry about what on earth I will wear! I was out with my mum yesterday and stumbled upon something for her in DJ's which got me thinking about my dress....

The situation: DS2 is due December 30 so will probably be somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks for the wedding. I will have enormous boobs (about an E cup) and will be breastfeeding. The wedding is in North Western NSW and we will be traveling to stay out there for a few days (in a motel). My gorgeous SiL to be is fine with me bf at any point during the wedding ceremony/reception ( and told my bf boob phobic bro to deal with it ) The wedding will be VERY fancy and I will be in lots of family photos that will be on display in several homes for years to come, so I've gotta look good!

It has to be a ****tailish dress, or at least look like one. No pants, button up shirt senario (I hate pants at a wedding anyway) it needs to be a nice fabric so not cotton or that shiny stretchy stuff they make Maxi dresses out of (which I hate anyway too) I can't "make do" with a regular maxi dress iykwim, I'd feel really inappropriately dressed. And of course I'll still have a bit (or a lot) of a belly... Its impossible. I've been googling for bf dresses but they are all maternity tent dresses and just not "nice" enough. I've seen some skirt/top combos but they seem to be "suits" bleugh or made for women my mums age (I'll be 34 at the wedding) i can have a dress altered to help make it bf friendly (ie make the straps detachable etc) but I havent even seen 1 dress that would be ok most have high necks, are strapless (Ill need a bra) or have two itty bitty triangles to cover the boob area and I'll be busting out all over!

I'm generally a size 14 so can shop most places...anyone have any ideas any face dress shops/sites/designers? I know I could have something made, but I hate not knowing what something will look like on me before I choose it iykwim?

I know I'm incredibly fussy but it's a really important day for the whole family...

GO to the Mr K website, there are heaps of dresses which would hide your tummy and be easy to BF in.

I like styles F0341, F0498, F0431 in the Flirt section.

I was bridesmaid in brothers wedding when DS2 was about 8 weeks old and dress was MR K design (KB4484) i just pulled arm out of shoestring strap and fed DS2. I also recently wore it to a friends wedding when DS2 was 17 months old and fed as well at wedding. My boobs are an F. I wore my mat bra with straps tucked down so i had some support.

Good luck in finding something

My sister is getting married and DS will be about 8 weeks old.........I bought a dress from maternalove, it's a Singapore company so I went up a size but the dress is fabulous, lovely material and totally dressy and great for BFing.

If you want one you can BF in without needing to adjust it, google Top Secret Maternity. They have breastfeeding dresses that I promise don't really look like bf attire! Yes, you can see the clips if you look but they are lovely dresses. I wore one to a wedding in November, it was great. They don't have the one that I bought on there anymore but there are a couple of other options!

Just thought I'd update this thread! I picked up my dress for my brother's wedding today It an Anthea Crawford "Marine Taffeta Pleated Dress" It looks gorgeous on and is very flattering to my recently pregnant tummy - the only problem was getting to my boobs I took it to a dressmaker who unpicked the top shoulder (which needed taking up anyway) and added three little covered buttons so I can undo the top and fold/pull it down. On the other strap (which attaches just above my boob) there are two large hook/clip things inside the dress. The dress is awesome AND I can breastfeed! (It was HIDEOUSLY expensive but my gorgeous mum bought it for me!)
