Weird temp readings..

I'm so confused........i felt hot so i checked my temperature the first reading was the thermometer beeping at me flashing "HI" on the screen, the second was 38.7 and i was on the phone for 20 mins and its now saying 35.7.... is it normal to be high then just drop down to low? or maybe my thermometer is broken..

I'm on two different antibiotics which side effects can be fevers... i also have a mind splitting headache that nurofen plus isnt helping with at all..

Perhaps you had a fever, and then the Nurofen kicked in?

Fluctuation in temps normally indicate infection so given the current circumstances that would be fairly normal - especially given that you are on ABs known to cause feverish body responses. Besides, as PZ said - the nurofen may be helping with your fever as well.

Thanks guys. Its amazing how quickly it kicks in! Still feel absolutely awful but DP is here now to look after me.
