Question How big is too big??

Ok.... so I know most people who post about bubs / kids weights are worried they are under weight..... Im the opposite!

So Bella is 2.75 (3 in December) and she is already 110cms and 18.6 kgs....she wears size 4, 5 and some 6 clothes.. I already get comments as people think she is 3.5 or 4.... She is as tall as alot of the 4 yo's we know.

H man is 5 months and already weighs 11 kgs and is at at last measure 68cms -he would be much longer than that now... (4 month check) with a head circ of 44cms.
He is wearing size 0 and size 1... The MCHN told me at the 4 month check he was the size of a 1 yo... he is also eating solids as the bottles just are not enough!

My DH is 6"7' so he is tall... my kids were never going to me short...

Most of the time I laugh it off as it is what it is... but some times people make out my kids are freaks..... they are just kids!

So my question is How big is to big?? Not that I can do anything about it!

    TIA
    Kate

Hehe.. what a fine pair we make Both with 6 foot 7 husbands, one worried about too much growth, and one worried about not enough.. LOL

Our kids definitely will be getting married, although I think Bella will tower over Aricyn.. LOL

i met a lady the other day with two girls, i thought they were about 4 and 7 just by looking, and the older girl had lost her two front teeth. turns out they are 2 and 4...just really tall and the teeth thing is apparently just cause shes tall/advanced.
i hate to say i found myself saying ''my god the look so much older, they are sooo tall!'' ...... i appologised as soon as i heard the words coming out of my mouth!!
the mum said he hubby was 6 foot 7 too!!!

I'm not sure there is much you can do about genetics Children come in all shapes and sizes. My son is on the smaller side of things. I was slightly worried at his 5 month check, but as my husband said, "someone has to be in the 3rd percentile!"

I imagine it must be hard if people treat your children as older than they are and therefore expect certain behaviour/speech etc from them...it would certainly be a boring place if we were all the same size!

So I guess I don't have an answer to your question of how big is too big. If they are active, healthy children then hopefully there's not too much to worry about.

My kids are bigger & taller, etc too. My DS1 has evened out lately. He's still tall but it's good that in his class there are a couple around his height so he's not all alone with his height. Lol. He's also slimmed down too. As he grew up he kinda evened out his weight.

DS2 actually got a comment today about not being at school. I was like "he doesn't go to school. He's only just 3" said with a smile of course. Lol.

Not sure how big is too big though.
If there was anything to worry about your MCHN would have mentioned something, right? ( Trying to put your mind at ease if you're worrying or something.)

My ds is the same age and is also in size 0 and size 1. He would be about 11kg too. With dd she really tapered off as breastfed babies tend to) but I think ds is on his way to being a giant! I am yet to introduce solids though, so it's all from the boob!

I just figure someone has to be the tallest and we're laying the foundation for their future growth into adults...very very tall adults!

I honestly wouldn't worry. Although your kids are bigger than the average child their age, it sounds to me their weights are in proportion to their height. And I'm not surprised with having a 6ft7 daddy. They sound perfect to me

    Thanks Ladies!

Bella is tall and solid - definatly not fat by any means just tall - I hope she stays that way through out her life! Not fat like her mum LOL

H man is a solid boy and he is so strong! He stands now and holds on to the couch! He is going to be a very stubborn and strong boy I think! DH is thinking he will be on his way to 7".....He is way longer than my DH was at this age... Eeek!

lol he is eye to eye with me and taller than his principal at school. Looks a riot when he is in trouble and telling him off and the principal has to look up to him!
