    Using Medicare car/HCC retrospectively?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if I can use a Health Care Card retrospectively?

DS needed medicine in my absence and it cost a fortune! The person getting it didn't have my medicare card or HCC. Is there anyway I can get any of the money back (either at chemist or through medicare)?

    Thanks!

I am pretty sure if you take your HCC and your receipt into medicare you can claim back the difference. But im not 100%

Yes you should be able to take your card and receipts into Medicare and claim back the difference. I did it once, the staff weren't happy about doing it (think it was a bit hard for them) but you most definitly can do it.
