    high temp?

DS has just awoken for a feed, he seems to feel REALLY hot. Temp says 38.4. He is teething at the moment but has never had a temp during. He is drinking fine and went straight back to sleep. But now I'm still up worrying. Should I be checking his temp every 30 mins? Give him some panadol just in case?

I took off his fleece suit and put a cotton wonder suit on. He is 9mths old.

    TIA!

If he is drinking fine and asleep then I would leave him until morning. If you are in NSW the you could call the nurse hotline on 1800 022 222
Just lose any blankets he's using and monitor I think. I wouldn't wake him for panadol

Fevers are the bodies natural way of combatting illness, so if you baby is not distressed just leave him be. When he wakes next re-check his temp, fevers over 39 have been associated with febrile convulsions, so give paracetamol. You may also wish to give paracetamol if you baby is overly fussy or clingy, as he might be in pain or discomfort. If you baby goes off his food/drink and has a reduction in his wet nappies you might like to visit a GP or if he is still feverish in 24 hrs. Often fevers are assocate with viral illness, so a GP will send you home with instructions to represent if your child is not better in a day or so.

Thanks Roses and Rumpleteaser Have had a irritable morning, ds has been awake, asleep, awake, asleep. Just wanting cuddles. He may be coming down with something, had the sniffles last week but nothing more. Still feels hot but temp hasn't risen. Will pop into the docs this morning... I hate it when they are not well
