Sorry I have no idea. I never get EWCMBut from what I have read it starts a few days before you O and then goes a day or two after you O.
I know everyone is different, but does anyone know on average how long fertile CM hangs around for before you are supposed to ovulate?

Yeah.. that's what I've been reading too... I guess everyone is different. Thanks Tasha
I got a positive OPK this morning but not much EWM... I'm usually swimming in the stuff by now if I'm about to O
BUT... I did have surgery last week, have been on some heavy pain medication and while that's stopped and I'm back to normal, perhaps my body is still feeling the effects and maybe I'm not "working" as I usually do this month cos my body has been through a mini trauma..
anyone else?
I think I had it for three days... Dtd day one and three and now I'm 30 weeks...
Not sure if that helps you, just go jump dh... He'll be grateful![]()
I only really get fertile CM as I'm about to O and then maybe for the day or so on O. Then it changes and disappears altogether, until AF (or not, as the case may be!). CM is hardly there at all more than two days or so before O (and it changes to the fertile stuff only right before).
I think that's within the realms of normal, although I do have a shorter luteal phase than the optimum (not that's impeded my fertility at all).
Think I'm a bit the same as Jen... not much right until I O, then heaps at that point and after... for a day or two after.
Depends on a lot of things - age, health, weight etc.
On average, I have read that a healthy woman in her 20s has 5 - 7 days of EWCM before she ovulates where it decreases after 30 to only 2 - 3 days of EWCM by the time a healthy woman is about 35. The number of days of EWCM continues to decrease from there.
But there are a lot of other factors that influence it also and everyone is different - those are just on average.
I used to have about five days of EWCM but since DS2 has been born, I have only had 3 days of EWCM. It could be because I older now but I would say it has more to do with environmental factors for me - like a bit of extra weight gain
Hope that helps![]()
For me it varies. Some months barely anything, other months it can last a week, with O happening somewhere near the end. I'm late 30s btw.
It may have something to do with hormone balance. I now get weekly acupuncture to balance things. Diet and other factors can affect hormone balance as well.

Thanks everyone! It makes sense that fertile CM would decrease with age!
UntoldAngel - I can't believe you're 30 weeks! OMG time flies! She'll be here before you know it! *eek*
I used to get 1 day of ewcm - if I was lucky. But after I discovered EPO and started taking it I would get 5+ days of it - it would be everywhere LOL!
It is awesome stuff - I rate it highly!! (Only take it up till O though, and drink lots of water with it)
Thanks for the advice ladies. Looks as though I get around 3-4 days of fertile mucus before I Ovulate.![]()
