I've been using the online site which has been working for me.
I'm wondering whether actually going to weekly weigh-in meetings is going to work or if it will just be a waste of money. At the moment, I have a gym membership that I am just not using so thinknig of cancelling that and doing ww. I have the old program books at home, and I've been trying on and off for a while now to stick to it, but I just can't. So was thinking if I cancel my gym, I can go to ww instead.
Any advice/experience greatly received!

Have you checked it out online? It is a whole new points system now but there are heaps of different things you can do with it. Otherwise if you don't want to count points, there is a program called Simply Filling which is a whole list of foods that you can eat at your leisure without having to count points.
There are also a few different options ... you can manage it yourself and not go to meetings by joining WW online. It costs $30 a month and it give you access to all the info online as well as point trackers online and the iphone app including point tracker.
You can go to meetings and pay the joining fee plus $20 a week. It gets you the meeting and that's it.
Or you can buy WW unlimited which is kind of the best of both worlds ... it cost $60 a month but it gives you access to both the online and phone apps for point tracking as well as going to meetings.
I am currently doing it online and I am finding that having the computer/phone work out my points for me is so much easier to stay on track. I also reckon that because I am spending money on it, I am motivated to make the most of it.
If you need something to keep you on track, I say go for it!
I need to attend the meetings to keep me honest & I also do a PT session & 2 classes (a group PT & tummy, hips & thighs class). I find I challenge myself more having attended the meetings.
The best thing I ever done for myself is going to ww meetings. I have lost 30.2kgs in 20 weeks. I will have to stop going in the next month or two cause I'm pregnant but as soon as this bub is born I will be back there again to get to my goal weight
. This is the 1st pregnancy I have started in double digits, and I am soo much healthier and fitter. I would say go for it.
I love the meetings. So much so, I got a job with WW and actually run some meetings. But I still like to attend as a member myself when I can, and I certainly will be after bubs arrives before I finish my maternity leave.
It really comes down to doing what works for you. Some people are fine just using the Etools and doing it by themselves. Others need to motivation and support and accountability that comes with having regular weekly meetings. If you find a GOOD meeting, with a good leader, then they can be an absolute blessing. However, (being completely honest), not all leaders are created equal - I know I have attended a few meetings myself where I didn't think much of the leader or the way the meeting was run, and I feel sorry for those members as they are not getting the best experience they could or should be getting. So if you do attend a meeting and find that you don't like it for whatever reason, shop around and attend a few different meetings and see if there is one you like.
As an onine member only, I believe that you are able to attend up to 2 meetings to 'try' them out, so to speak. Or if you sign up with WW Unlimited you get the meetings, the Etools and the iphone application (but it costs more - although you can cancel at any time). Or if you are not sure, you can sign up at the meeting and just "pay as you go" and see how you find them, before deciding if you want to continue at meetings or not.
Thanks for the advice girls.
Well, I did, I went to my first meeting tonightI decided to sign up for the unlimited as I like the online tools. Just a bit annoyed that there's no android app yet
Yowie - that is awesome! You must be feeling so proud of yourself!
