    dairy intollerance

    everyone....

    bit of back story....

DD is 9 months today and has had yoghurt since she was 6months, cows milk on ceral and cheese in her food from about 7 months...

we have never had a issue with any reactions to new foods.

as of sunday afternoon she has had ( sorry for the TMI that follows) runny, sticky, revoltingly rank smelling poo's....
we have never had a poo explosion until monday morning and have now had 2

the only new food she has had recently was a small scrape of cream cheese on her toast one morning, (please dont attack me for this one ) a taste of my gelati on the weekend which was maybe half a teaspoon, a small taste of zuchinni slice....

took her to the MCHN today and she saw one of her poos and said that its quite mucousy and she thinks its a dairy intollerance, but also mentioned it could be teeth or a bug.....

im just a bit confused as to what to do next.... she didnt tell me to stop dairy or anything but to keep a eye on it for the next few days....

I suppose it might be related to teh volume of dairy, if she has a mild sensitivity....? to be honest I'm not 100% sure how this works. She's on dairy-based formula, though, right?, so she would have had these symptoms much earlier if she was intollerent.
She's been unwell, so that's most likely what it is.

mmm....I just saw this post. My LO has a milk protein allergy (basically dairy intolerance). I'm no expert but i would have thought if it was dairy issue it would have been noticed if your LO is on a regular formula. Another common allergy is egg intolerance, was their egg in the slice? Has your LO had egg before? Other than this I agree with MadB that it might just be your LO is unwell. When my LO had feeding issues (I was/am breast milk feeding) I had to stop taking egg and milk and then I reintroduced one at a time into my diet. My LO reacted to milk but not to egg.
