Hospitals really err on the side of caution here - if they were offering you the opportunity then it is at least as safe as a repeat CSection.
The risk is uterine rupture - read the posts at the top of here about what a uterine rupture is, because usually the form it takes isn't as bad as the name sounds.

My understanding is that you can still have a vaginal birth. My sister was offered a VBAC with a 15months age gap between her babies, and I know of one member here who had a VBA2C after a similar age gap.

I think as KMN said, they do tend to be, if anything, overcautious. If your hospital is supportive of a VBAC then you can be fairly certain it is safe

I had my first successful VBAC after a 15 month gap and just had my 2nd successful VBAC after a 2 year gap. So short answer is yes you can do it!

Just thought I would say that my sister had a VBAC with 18mnths between her babies. Also my hubby says that basically a scar is totally formed after 3 months. It doesn't get "stronger" after that. It just stays the same.

Good luck, I see your time is getting closer now

Great question! Thanks for asking. I'm hoping for a VBAC and DD will be a week past 18 months on the EDD for this pg...

I hope you have great success with your VBAC!
