Yes you can, although you may find that once the pred kicks in you won't need to.
anyone know if i can give Miss B both cough medicine and Predmix at the same time?
Im new to this "possible asthma" thing and forgot we have Predmix! she has been coughing like crazy all night and today so silly me went to the chemist and brought her some Robitussin (recommended by chemist) but its not helping, now im wondering if i can give her Predmix?
Yes you can, although you may find that once the pred kicks in you won't need to.
thanks littlelara! i have already given her the Robitussin 2.5hrs ago and it's not helping so about to now give predmix! thank you for replying
No prob. If you're concerned you can always call nurse on call 1300 60 60 24. It's awful when our little ones are unwell.
hun, it took me ages to work out the different coughs. The Predmix should bring some relief.

Dianne
it's not helping! she is still barking away!!! it stresses me out listening to her! particularly of a night time!
Littlelara - thanks for that number it is now saved in my phone!
Poor little poppetIt is so heartbreaking listening to them cough.
I don't use cough medicines for my kids at all, especially for asthma as I feel they don't work.
If it is a dry asthma cough then I find ventolin seems to really help...say something like 2-4 puffs with 4 breaths each puff...if you have ventolin and the predimix.
If it is a mucusy cough you are better of letting them cough up as much as possible to get it of there chest, things like sitting in a steaming bathroom, vaporiser with eucalypt, laying them over your knees and tapping their upper back to break up flem, raising the end of the cot may help.
I hope the coughs eases for her soon
Thanks RainbowBrite it is heartbreaking! i think it bothers me more than it does her though!
Its a mucusy cough, but she won't bring it up than spit it out, she keeps thinking she is going to be "sick/vomit" and that scares her!
but i guess its back to the vaporiser again!!!
DD10 is the same, she will sit there with a bucket as all the coughing makes her nearly vomit. Normally we give the Predmix for 3 days and definately give ventolin as RB said. Hope she has a good night tonight.

Dianne
is bricanyl the same as ventolin?
I've never heard of that, could it be a generic brand of ventolin or it could be a preventer. What colour case did it come in?
Regards,
Dianne
No. Bricanyl is a preventer. Ventolin is an immediate reliever.
Bricanyl is actually a Reliever. Similar to Ventolin. It contains Terbutaline - which dilates the airways just like Ventolin. ( when in doubt - green/ blue packs - relievers , brown/orange packs - preventers). HTH.
oh dear!!! this is come confusing stuff! LOL im sure i will get use to it all though!
Is she any better today?
Regards,
Dianne
