    Fever of 39.5 - 40.2

DS13 woke up yesterday morning with aches and pains in his body and a temp of 40. Throughout the day it didn't get lower than 39.5 and last night back up to 40.2 so I took him to the ED. The doctor said it's ok to have a temp of 40 for a few days as it's associated with the flu, this morning it's still 39.6. I'm giving him panadol and neurofen together, anything else I can do, he's so uncomfortable. TIA.

    Regards,
    Dianne

Hope he feels better soon Diane.

This happens to my DD when she teeths all the time and it is heartbreaking, they look like they are cooking! we also give luke warm baths/ showers and ice blocks. dr said to be wary of ice blocks as a virus can feed off the hot then cold temp drops or something ??? But it does help drop her temp. Hope he is feeling better soon

All my kids have just gone through this, temps of 40, nothing would bring it down nurofen and panadol combo only would get it to maybe 39. I am pleased to say after a couple of days it has broken, they are left with a shocking cough. I took them to the DR to make sure it was nothing more sinsiter but it is just a horrible virus that is going around. Its just awful.

Glad to here you little man is on the mend. Hope the rest of the house is spared.

He wanted to go to school today but I'm keeping him home another day and no signs of anyone else having what he had.
