Poor lil Ishka having a caesarean

Mum's dog is pregnant (not for much longer!), and went into labour today - YAY! She had a bit of trouble last time, so Mum was on high alert this time. She was pushing for a few hours, with nothing happening, and Mum rang our vet several times and he didn't ring back. So she took Ishka to another vet.

They gave her some injections and now 2 little girl pups have been born that look just like their dad. Apparently there's at least 2 more to go, but the injections aren't working so they're giving her a c-section, and sterilising her at the same time.

Poor little thing, I hope it all ends up okay. She's such a good little mum to her pups, it's gorgeous to watch.

Mum was saying it's gonna cost $1500-$2k!

Glad they're well. I hope she recovers quickly and bonds well with her puppies.

I'm not surprised by the cost. Sounds about right. If you keep one of the pups, make sure you get pet insurance. It's so worth it.

Mum's a bit down, she's not making enough milk and the pups keep crying for food. Mum and I have been hand feeding them which they're loving, and as soon as we put them back with Mumma she licks 'em all over, so I'm pretty sure she's bonded well - she's had a traumatic couple of days, so hopefully she just needs some rest and she'll be at full Mum speed in a couple days.

In other news, I keep wincing every time I see the puppies scrabbling over her caesar scar
