    Bleeding Again.....

I'm 21weeks & had vaginal bleeding again today. I'm seeing my OB today for a scan at 2pm. He believes it's my placenta as at 20 weeks I had a scan & my placenta completely covers my cervix. My question is how do people deal with bleeding. I burst into tears this morning & felt worried I'm sure the baby is fine as I've felt him move a little. But if this is going to be ongoing how do I not freak out every time??
It's taken us so long to get pregnant.

    Hi Bex,

    Hope you are going O.K.

There are a few girls here who have been in your position. Hopefully one of them will come on and give the details you are looking for.

I can't be of any help other than to offer you a hug. It must be such a frightening time for you.

Hi bex I've had a few bleeds this pg. It's so scary isn't it hun.

To answer your question, my heart sinks. Everytime I see blood I freak out. Race off to drs and demand a scan.

Since I've had my doppler I haven't been so bad. I'm not feeling movements that I can time yet as they aren't really regular so the doppler definately comes in handy.

Hope your bleed settles soon. Be sure to rest. Try to relax I know its hard xx

Big hugs. I had bleeding when I was pg with DS. Had a little bleeding in first tri and then again from 30 weeks so later than you currently are. In my case we are pretty sure it was the placenta too mine wasnt covering cervix but was very very low. I think you should prepare yourself for lots of bedrest. My bleeding subsided considerably around 33 weeks after quite a big bleed and total bed rest (in hospital for some of it) so hopefully your bleeding will subside too. Your OB will probably see you quite often to keep check on things. Good luck, these little ones in our tummy are tougher than we think especially now you are half way point.

Thanks ladies, saw my OB he is so lovely, did a scan baby is great. He believes it's the placenta & will prob be on ongoing issue. I really need to relax & take it as it comes. He was reassuring & supportive. So no DTD or yoga for the rest of my pregnancy.........
I'm thinking about the doppler but I can feel him move so I'm not sure. I really just wanted to enjoy every minute of pregnancy but feel so scared all the time. Bring on January!! Again thanks everyone xx

Bex, there's a chance you may need to be hospitalised or be on bed rest at some point. But I'm sure your ob has told you if the bleeding increases that you should go to hospital. I had a low lying placenta without issues and a c/s at 39 weeks, but had a friend at the same stage who needed hospitalisation at 32 weeks before a c/s at 38 weeks. All good and a healthy baby boy at the end of it! Just a scary (and then boring, with all that bed rest!) pg journey.

Glad to hear everything is OK. What does this mean for delivery? Are they talking CS because of your placenta position?

My OB went through all the complications & precautions. He explained about needing a CS & about when bed rest or hospitalization might be needed. He was our FS so he is well aware of how special bubs is & put my mind as ease(well as much as possible) lil scared about the CS thou.....
