Thumbs up DS did a POO in the LOO!!!!!

DS (3) has been a really looooong drawn out toilet training saga!!!! But yesterday and today we have FINALY had poo in the loo!!!!

He has always been 100% great with telling us when he needs to go- our issue has been that he has always wanted a nappy!! (or that he gets confused and thinks he can wee in undies, until he does it and then he gets shocked!!) We have a potty and a seat that goes on the toilet, he will hapily stand up and wee into the potty and he will sit on his seat and wee in the toilet (he has even started using his step and standing up to wee in there) but he never wanted to sit and poo!!! He always goes and gets a nappy, and even once when i was encouraging him to go on the toilet and didnt put the nappy on him, he went and got it himself and put it on himself!! lol

So yesterday the packet of nappies was empty.. i had a few random ones in the nappy bag etc and was going to the shops to get more (DD and DS wear the same size) and DS needed a poo- he went to where the nappies usually are and came back astonished saying there arnt any!!! So i said, "Oh well, you will have to go on the toilet, cmon lets go!!!"

So we got there, set up the seat and he sat there and said "No poo this time" and hopped off, so i left the seat there and we came back to the lounge and a few minutes later he runs off down the hallway and then yells out, "Mummy come look at my poo!!!" (oddly, words i enjoyed hearing!!!! Motherhood!!! )

YAY!!!!! So we wiped his bum and flushed and he got praise and realised he wasnt going to die from pooing on the loo!!!

So when i bought more nappies.. i have now hidden them in a cuboard.. and this morning same thing.... "Mummy i need a nappy... where are they???? Daddy bought some!!!!" and i said "i dont know where they are, lets just go on the toilet again hey?" so we set the seat up, and again no go right away, but left it there and left him to it, and sure enough a few minutes later he runs off down the hallway!!!! YAY!!!! i think we are there!!!!

Now i just have to curb the weeing outside in public places (like at our new play group yesterday ) and just generally weeing outside all the time at home, and get him to wear clothes..... He has even been fine at night for aweek (until last night, but thats all ok)!!!! YAy!!!

Oh and i have to be sneaky and not let him see where the nappies are when i get one for DD!!!!!

Well we havent had a poo in a nappy since the first day!!! DH is onboard now too - DS tried the "Daddy i need a nappy" and DH went to give him one and I said "NNNNNOOOOOOOO" so i set up his loo seat and its all good!! And now this morning instead of even saying "Mummy i need a nappy" he said "Mummy i need to to a poo on the toilet!!!" awwwwwwwww

And he is even insisting on wiping his own bum and doing a darn good job of it too!! We always check him when he is done and so far I have only had to rewipe once!!! I cant beleive that something that was so long coming has just changed so efficiently!!! He refused the toilet for soooo long!!! And now he is happy to use it!!! I should have hidden the nappies months ago!!! lol

Oh and weeing on the toilet is our next thing, rather than outside!!!
