baby wearing in the (really really hot) summer

This bub is due in Feb in Alice Springs.... so we're talking serious heat.

Since I've worn the other two I can't imagine this one will be different but I'm worried about the heat.
Was going to get a Close Carrier, but I'm worried about the layers.
I have a simple duckcloth shell sling. I gave away my two linen mei teis so don't have those any more and only have my BBH Ohsnap which is for 6months and older.

Is there anything potentially better and/or cooler than a shell sling for me and bub?

I'm interested to know too Kim, we get about 8 weeks of winter if we're lucky and the rest of the year is summer. At least it's a dry heat though, I don't cope well with humidity.

I have a Bali Baby Breeze on its way which is supposed to be cool in summer as it's made of gauze. Apparently, they can be quite diggy if not wrapped well, but I'm hoping it will force me to become better at wrapping. If you want a wrap, something woven would be better than something stretchy (such as Close Carrier or HAB) as it has more support so you can get away with single layer carries.

Ellaroos are supposed to be quite cool and they make both wraps and ring slings.

Can you tell I've been doing a bit of research myself? lol

There is a baby wearing buy sell and swap group on FB and I've found them to be really good for advice on all types of carriers.

Well I've been researching all of those for a while (cough cough) this morning....thanks for all the suggestions. TC can you PM me the name of the group please? I've bee searching but can't find anything.

I think a sling is better for us than a wrap. All that material makes me feel hot thinking about it.
The breeze is exactly what I need in theory....but it's kinda boring.
The ellaroos are ok and the padded rails are a plus, but I'm not sure DH would wear any of them.

Any one have a Sakura Bloom? They're made of linen. Bit more exxie and not padded. Pretty sure I'll go with that.
