    Charging Crystals

Those that do this other ways, feel free to share how you charge your crystals. This is just what works for me.

When I first get a crystal, from a shop, because I’m unsure of the history of the stone, this is what I do.

    Grounding/Cleaning the stone
For the cycle of the moon, usually from full moon to full moon, I put the crystals in a pot plant that gets bathed in moonlight. This helps ground the stone & sends all energies currently within the stone back into the earth. You can use a patch of your garden if you have one.

    Charging the crystals/stones
You need to think about what you want the stones to help you with, as people believe that each type of stone has a certain use. If you don’t have a particular type of stone for what you need, a clear quartz is a universal use stone.

Everything I do, I qualify it with "if it be the will of the universe".

I use the 4 elements to charge the stones.

    Earth & Water
On the 3 nights of the full moon, I usually put the stones in a glass or bowl with some salt (water & earth) and leave out in the moonlight. If you can’t leave the stones outside, a window ledge is fine.

    Air & Fire
Depending on what I want to use the crystal for, will have a impact on what incense (which are your fire & air elements) I use. I prefer to use resin on charcoal blocks, but stick incense is fine to use. I usually sit the crystals/stones near the burning incense, to allow them to be bathed in the smoke.

I try to do the 4 elements over the 3 nights of the full moon, as I have my stones sitting outside at my outdoor altar, I have them in their bowl with salted water, with incense burning next to the bowl.

Before I start using the crystal, I cast a circle, sit holding the crystal in my hand, meditating on what I want the crystal to be used for. I do also say "if it be the will of the universe".

I then carry the crystal with me, put it under my pillow, or whatever use I’ve decided upon for its.

While I was away, we charged moonstone crystals for use in our full-moon ritual, all the stones had been cut from the same stone, we had them in a circle, in the middle of the circle, around a bowl of spring water, we then during the ritual sent energies into the stones.

Even now I get a buzz from the moonstone, and have learnt that if I want a good night’s sleep, not to put the stone under my pillow.
