Anyone taken their baby/toddler to Kidz Can HQ in Elsternwick?
Hi all,
We have been very undecided whether we want to continue our gymbaroo classes. I've initially taken DS when he was around 6 months old to improve his core muscles and motor skills along the way (he hated tummy time) and so he could get used to other babies/toddles as he was/is not around many kids. He eventually learned to like the classes but lately he's been very disinterested in the mat time to the point where I have to think is is worth paying $17 per session when all he loves doing is the free play and starts wriggling around and crying when I have to make him sit and pay attention. Anyhoo, I have come across a place called Kidz Can HQ in Elsterwick. Is sounds good on paper (1.5 hours of mainly free play plus story time with snack, songs and dancing etc). Has anyone heard of it on been to it? Is there anything else I can look into that's good? I live in Aspendale Gardens so I'm not too keen on travelling to Elsternwick but I will if it's good.
i'm not sure about kidz can but what about a play group or even music classes? there's a music class at the chelsea heights comm centre that is only $5 & it goes for an hour & includes songs - singing, dancing, playing with instruments - and it's in a big hall so the kids can run about as much as they like (my DS spends more time running around than really listening to the music ). i know it's not strictly exercise but i still think it's stimulating & does involve dancing.
there's also some really good playgroups around our area (i'm in chelsea) that you could go to - less expensive than gymbaroo & lots of free play time & lots of equipment for them to use. then maybe your DS would enjoy something like the playball class at aspendale gardens comm centre when he gets to 2? i know a couple of people who go & who say their kids love it.
