    Trip to hospital?

I'm 34+4 and for the past two and a half weeks have been experiencing cramping, back ache and braxton hicks. When I mentioned it to the midwife she straight away said I was at risk of pre term labour

Yesterday and last night they were pretty consistent and I was feeling nauseated at times. The last couple of hours they have been quite frequent and have increased in intensity...

Should I give the hospital a ring and go in to get monitored for a while? Although I'm pretty certain it would stop if I did, just to make me look like an over worried pregnant woman

I would go in hun, it can't hurt.

With DD I went in quite a few times for monitoring. They were always more than accommodating and would much rather I came in "just in case" instead of sitting at home wondering and having it be the alternative and needing to be there!

Please give the hospital a ring, they will be more than happy to monitor you. I went into labour at 33wks and had pre labour up til 39wks, it's better to be sure. Good luck hun.

    Regards,
    Dianne

It won't hurt to be monitored for a while.
    Hope everything settles down!

I with everyone else. If you are at risk of giving birth they can give you some steroid injections to help develop bubs lungs. Better to be safe.

Go and get checked. If its nothing, then great and you have peace of mind. And if it is, you're in the right hands. Goodluck.

Okay so I finally rang the hospital, and they told me to ring my ob. Rang my ob but she is off sick today. So I could call the hospital now cos they said to ring back if I couldn't get in contact with her...

I don't want to ring back now it took me this long to call, although partly because ds had a sleep and I managed some, and they aren't as painful as they were... But now I feel like they don't really care and if I go and it is nothing, then it's just a big waste of time (particularly given it's just off 2 hours round trip!)

I wouldnt hesitate to call hospital back I went in at 30 weeks when I was pg with DS they monitored me and I was surprised how welcome they made me feel. Didnt make me feel like I was being over concerned at all.

Call them back love. Even if they do make u feel silly ( which i very much doubt!) is better than not going & ur lil miss arriving early iykwim. I went in 3 or 4 times just to get monitoring simply for peace of mind.

I'll see how I go overnight and ring my ob in the morning and see what she says, unless things get really bad then I'll ring the hospital

Nothing much happening today which is nice although wouldn't you know it, I'm typing this and getting a contraction!

Might give my ob a call anyway cos I've noticed if I do anything remotely physical I get them...
