    Selection criteria for my placement :o

    i start my ENN course on the 7th nov and i had to find a hospital and a nursing home but if i went with this other hospital i can do all my placement there instead of 2 different places which i would really prefer.

    My problem is i have to apply and have to do a key selection criteria which im struggling with cause i havent worked in 11yrs (finished yr12 13yrs ago) So my Question is how to write a selection criteria based on raising 4 beautiful kids cause i dont have any other qualifications i did nightfill for 8wks about 21/2yrs ago thats about it

    Have you done any volunteer work?
    What are the key selection criteria? Is it asking about things like your communication skills, conflict resolution skills, and the like?

    Do they give you the key selection criteria.

    Generally speaking you can use 'real life' examples to show them how you meet criteria. Leadership can be shown by organising a group activity and getting others to all contribute, trouble shooting can be when you have been able to find a workaround to a problem at home or with travel. Group participation can be explained by discussing a conflict and how it was directed to a compromise..... It might be a little more creative but think about what 'skill' they are actually asking you to demonstrate and you should be able to find an example!

    the questions seem pretty easy the only sort of volunteer work is canteen and reading with the kiddies from my kids schools

     Satisfactory completion of Year 12 study OR satisfactory completion of a Certificate III qualification or equivalent OR be a current Ramsay Health care employee
     have good verbal and written communication skills;
     have computer literacy skills;
     possess good interpersonal skills and function effectively in a team;
     demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development;
     provide a cover letter and address the key elements in the application package;
     be willing to embrace the values of the Ramsay Way.

    For each state first that you can do it:
    e.g. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Then go on to provide examples to show you can do that.
    e.g. In previous positions I was required to communicate well with customers and other staff members. I did this by contributing to staff meetings, writing in communal communication areas such as the staff diary. I am familiar with different writing styles such as report and essay writing….etc etc

    Have you done any volunteer work? Have you acted on the p & c? Have you helped out in the classroom with reading or other things? These kinds of things aren't paid but often use the skills they have listed.

    What microsoft computer programs have you used - listing them and what you have produced on them e.g. newsletters, essays.
