    Struggling! Diet tips?

I am really struggling with lack of energy this pregnancy, wondering if anyone has ideas on good energy foods? Should I be eating low gi? I do struggle with eating enough fruit and veg and unfortunately im a sucker for carbs, which I think is what's making me so sluggish.

Any advice or suggested eating plans?

Increase your protein. Lots of small meals help. Meat, cheese, eggs, nuts. I used to take packet miso soup to work and have a cup in the afternoon when I wanted to sleep. Grains like quinoa and amaranth are very high in protein. I use instead of rice either hot or in salads. You can make snacks with dried fruit, crushed nuts and rolled quinoa.

    Keep hydrated.

A really good book including recipes is "Feeding the Bump"

    Thanks l&bs!

I wonder if I can find an actual eating plan somewhere. Might see if that book is in our library tomorrow?

For an actual diet/eating plan, google the Brewer pregnancy diet. It may seem strange (i couldnt keep to it 100%) but it has some great ideas. Very healthy for mum and bub.
