My sister and I both suffered from growing pains in our knees (at least that it was put down too) DS has, over the last 6 mnths or so, complained about sore knees especially when he has a big day of playing/running. I asked the Dr who advised that it was likely growing pains (cause he has really grown alot lately). Last night he woke in pain and said his knees hurt... isn't he too young for growing pains? does anyone else's LO suffer from growing pains?
yup all my kids have gotten/still get growing pains including my DS who is 2. He has gotten sore legs and feet since he could tell me.
They believe that growing pains is a heridary thing too.
I have seen my LO writhering on the floor with them- they are horrible. They get pains in their legs, back, feet, knees and even their torsos
DD 8 has had them so bad in her feet that they actually x-rayed them to make sure it wasnt something more sinister. She was in agony for months and then her feet grew 2 sizes and they settled down again.
All you can do is treat the pain and give them relief with warm/cold compresses and strap the areas for support and pain relief such as nurofen if needed. Massage seems to help with a anti-inflam gel and you can always try an osteopath as well if so incline.
