We are looking to fly from Brisbane to Newcastle (DP's best friend from highschool is getting married hooray), it seems our only options are Virgin and Jetstar? Any recommendations? Specifically, which will be more comfortable for a heavily pregnant woman (at least it is a short flight haha).
They both say that no medical clearance is required for pregnancy prior to 36w (I'll be ~32w) if they are progressing 'normally'... has this been your experience? Would hate to turn up and be expected to produce something!
If you're willing to ravel to Sydney Rex fly to Newcastle and Qantas fly direct also.
Yep in my experience if you even look pregnant they ask. Never been so far as having to have had paper work though. Maybe just a quick note from your middie that you're x number of weeks and it's all good?
I've flown both JetStar and Virgin Blue from Bris to Newcastle and not had any dramas at all.
Except the last time we went with VBlue and they were delayed for about 6 hours... but then again, I've been delayed as long on Qantas too, pot luck I think...
I've not flown pregnant, but as Kim said, maybe just get a letter to be on the same side.
Seeing my Ob tomorrow so guess I'll just ask him to write something up in case. Eek, hope we don't get any delays since we are planning to fly up the morning of the wedding!
The flight was delayed coming out of Brisbane to Newcastle - so our flight from Newcastle to home on Sunday afternoon was delayed. I've never been delayed on an early morning flight, so fingers crossed you won't be either!!!
I live in Newcastle and have flown to and from both Melbourne and Brisbane with virgin, the only issue I had was when they sat my in an emergency exit when I was past 6 months so I had to move, but I got moved to a seat where I had a row to myself, other than that they have always been fantastic
