Hi, I went and didnt get vaccinated, was only there for 4 days. I rang the travel health line and they said for such a short stay it wasnt considered absolutely necessary althought there was still a risk of catching somthing. My BF was meant to come but was 8 weeks pregnant and her Dr advised her not to have the vacccinations, and the possibility of getting ill and the treatments harming bubs made her decide to stay home ( she has had a lot of anxiety through out her pregnancy so Im not sure if this is what the dr suggested or her own concerns). Have you spoken to your GP or a travel Dr? Travel dr's have the most up to date information
Hope you get to go, we had an absolute ball lovely people, beautiful country and a very laid back lifestlye
As for TTC and vax, make sure if you do decide to get the vax done that you tell your GP BEFORE you get the needles that you are TTC so they can say if its a good idea or not. I went to Africa a few years ago and was told I should wait for I think it was 6 months before TTC.
Not Fiji, but when I went to Bali recently I was immunized against typhoid. I was advised it was fine while TTC as it was not a live vaccine. Best speaking with your GP though and then weigh up the benefits and risks.
I got the hep vac when we went to Fiji about 6 years ago but not the others. My GP asked where exactly we were going - if just to tourist resorts, he said the chances of catching something is very low, but if you're out and about, then it was probably wise. I'm pretty sure it's all safe when ttc, but I'd be checking with your GP.
